Deep lines and drooping brow tissue are common age-related aesthetic challenges. When they develop, a simple lift with Dr. Larson can elevate the brow and restore your youthful facial appearance.
Forehead lines, a lowered brow, and deep furrows between the brows can create a perpetually angry and unapproachable expression. These are all very common signs of the natural aging process – but you don’t have to live with them.
If the face you see in the mirror doesn’t match the way you feel inside, a subtle brow lift with Tucson plastic surgeon Dr. Larson can smooth away any lines, return your brow to a more youthful position and turn back the clock on aging.
In general, the best brow lift candidates:
The brow lift is a simple procedure that will be done under general anesthesia. Dr. Larson offers two surgical options: the traditional brow lift and the endoscopic brow lift. Here is a closer look at these approaches:
The traditional form of the brow lift procedure requires an incision within the hairline that extends across the forehead.
Dr. Larson will carefully lift the skin to smooth any wrinkles and reposition the brows. He will then trim away any excess tissue and close the incisions carefully to minimize scarring.
An endoscopic brow lift requires several small incisions along the scalp – rather than one lengthy one. A small tube attached to a camera will be inserted through one of those openings to visually guide Dr. Larson through the procedure. Using small surgical instruments, he will reposition the brow and smooth the forehead skin to address any lines.

After your brow lift, you can expect to experience swelling, bruising, numbness, pain and general discomfort. All of these side effects are normal and should disappear within a few weeks. If you have an endoscopic brow lift, these effects will be minimal and should dissipate more quickly.
To care for the area after surgery, you will need to keep your head elevated, apply ice packs regularly and apply a prescription ointment to minimize scarring. You can expect to return to your normal daily routine within ten days for a traditional brow lift and about one week for an endoscopic approach.
Once the area has healed, you can expect your brow lift results to last up to ten years. Although you will continue to age, you will always look younger than you would have without the surgery.
