Breast Reconstruction in Phoenix

The Shape of Healing

Build Your Treatment Plan

Wholeness, Reimagined

Reconstruction isn’t one path. It may follow cancer care, a risk-reducing mastectomy, a prior result that never felt right, or a difference present since childhood.

This is personal work. We acknowledge the weight of it, then eliminate what we can: confusion, hurry, guesswork. When you come to Larson Plastic Surgery, you’ll get plain language, choices that reflect your goals, and thoughtful guardrails that keep healing steady.

An In-Depth Look

Breast reconstruction restores shape using implants or your own tissue. Many patients choose a staged implant approach where their surgeon places tissue expanders on the first day of treatment, then exchanges them for implants once healing has settled.

We’ll discuss prepectoral (over the muscle) versus subpectoral (under the muscle) placement. Your provider will also explain how acellular dermal matrix supports soft-tissue coverage and which fat grafting techniques work best to refine your contours.

Dr. Larson also specializes in microsurgical DIEP breast reconstruction using your own abdominal tissue to create a breast frequently without the use of implants.

What Breast REconstruction Addresses

Reconstruction addresses the absence or distortion of breast tissue and works to restore proportion, comfort, and how clothing fits. It also helps correct side-to-side differences after unilateral mastectomy and can soften animation or tightness if muscle was previously involved. Nipple–areola options include surgical reconstruction or medical tattooing when appropriate.

What It's For:
  • Results of breast cancer treatments

  • Breast deformities

  • Trauma or injury to your breasts

  • Nipple–areola reconstruction

    67-year-old patient
6 months after completion of her reconstruction. She had an implant reconstruction that was performed by another surgeon. She was very unhappy with the results. I then removed her old implants and placed a tissue expander in the pre-pectoral plane. After expansion was completed, the expander was exchanged for 750cc smooth round high profile silicone implants.

Our Process

You’ll sit down with us for a detailed consultation that includes history, measurements, and photos aligned to your breast surgeon’s plan. We map choices—immediate vs delayed, expander vs direct-to-implant, plane selection—and talk openly about radiation, sensation, and staged refinements like fat transfer.

You’ll leave with a written timeline, garment guidance, and clear check-ins. Insurance documentation support is part of the visit, and your follow-up includes photo-verified milestones so progress feels tangible.

Why Us?

We coordinate closely with your oncology and breast surgery teams so decisions about timing and technique support healing, radiation needs, and your future surveillance.
