If persistent flab and loose skin have appeared on your midsection, Dr. Larson's Tucson tummy tuck can restore your flat and firm abdomen.
After pregnancy, weight gain, or the natural aging process, belly flab often develops – and refuses to budge. When this occurs, one of the only ways to address the issue is with a tummy tuck.
The procedure is designed to sculpt a toned abdomen by:
The best Tucson tummy tuck candidates are men and women who are close to their ideal weight – but also struggle with stubborn fat, excess skin and lax abdominal muscles. Many of our clients request this procedure following a pregnancy, C-section or significant weight loss.
In an effort to deliver the best tummy tuck experience available, Dr. Larson offers a variety of ways to customize your procedure. Here is a quick look at your options:
The traditional tummy tuck is the most popular option among our Tucson clients.
With an incision that runs from hip-to-hip, it allows Dr. Larson to remove fat and excess skin from the entire abdomen. Most of these procedures also involve relocating the belly-button as well, along with gentle liposuction to refine and contour the area.
The mini tummy tuck is best for patients who are very close to their ideal body weight, but want to remove belly flab beneath the navel.
This technique requires one small incision and does not involve relocating the belly button. Although the transformation is not as dramatic, the surgery is also associated with less pain and a shorter recovery period.
The extended approach is the ideal tummy tuck for our Tucson clients who have love handles and excess belly flab.
The surgery involves a lengthy scar that extends behind the hips. Through that large opening, Dr. Larson can remove unwanted fat from the entire abdominal area – including the love handles.

Learn MoreYour Tucson abdominoplasty with Dr. Larson will be done under general anesthesia to ensure your comfort and safety. If you’re having a mini tummy tuck, the entire experience will take about an hour and a half. If you’re having a traditional or extended procedure, it can take up to five hours.
To begin, Dr. Larson will create the incisions. These will be carefully placed to ensure that the resulting scars can be concealed with clothing and swimwear. From there, he will tighten lax abdominal muscles, trim away excess skin and surgically remove unwanted fat.
Once your abdomen has been reshaped, Dr. Larson may reposition your belly button to ensure a natural outcome. This will involve removing your existing navel and reattaching it to a new location on your stomach.
You will be free to return home immediately after your Tucson abdominoplasty to begin the recovery period. In general, we recommend taking about two weeks off from work. You should avoid strenuous activity until you’re approved to resume your normal routine by Dr. Larson.
Although scars are inevitable after even the best tummy tuck experience, Dr. Larson goes to great lengths to ensure that they are as discreet as possible. In addition to placing the incisions strategically and closing them in a way that promotes optimal healing, Dr. Larson will provide you with post-surgical directions to minimize scarring.
