A growing number of women throughout the country are choosing to reverse their breast augmentations. Dr. Larson has helped countless clients remove their implants, reshape their breast tissue β and restore their naturally beautiful chests.
There are many reasons women decide to remove their breast implants. The most common ones include:
This is a serious complication that is associated with implants. It develops when the body forms scar tissue around the implant, distorting the breasts and causing pain.
A rupture occurs when the material inside the implant leaks out. When this occurs, the device must be removed completely or replaced.
This is the most common reason our Tucson clients undergo breast implant removal. Their cosmetic preferences simply change over time and they desire smaller, more natural-looking breasts.
Your Tucson breast implant removal will be done under general anesthesia and will take between one and two hours to complete. To begin, Dr. Larson will re-open the original incision and carefully remove the implant, along with any scar tissue that is present.
From there, he will close the incisions with care to minimize scarring and cover the area with a surgical dressing. He will then place drains to prevent blood and fluid from accumulating beneath the surface of the skin.
The answer to this question varies from woman to woman. Because implants provide volume in the upper portion of the breasts, you may notice this loss. If your implants were very large or your natural tissue is lax, you may experience visible drooping or a misshapen appearance.
In these cases, you may need an additional procedure to address the issue in a few months, once the area has fully healed and the final results are apparent.

Learn MoreMany of our Tucson breast implant removal clients require an additional surgery after breast implant removal to achieve an optimal aesthetic outcome. When this occurs, Dr. Larson may recommend one or both of the following procedures:
After having your implants removed, a fat transfer breast augmentation can restore your soft and full appearance. It involves performing liposuction to harvest unwanted fat from another area of the body and transferring it to the breasts to create natural volume.
A breast lift can be performed on its own or alongside a fat transfer. The procedure is designed to reshape and elevate your natural tissue β restoring a perky and youthful chest after breast implant removal.
