A breast lift is one of several possible surgical procedures that lifts sagging or drooping breasts by removing or tightening excess tissue and raising the position of the nipple/areolar area. The procedure selected will depend on the amount of reshaping required, and whether implants will be placed to create more volume.
With age, skin throughout the face and body begins to lose its youthful elasticity – and that includes the breasts. When your chest begins to droop and sag, a breast lift with Dr. Larson can restore your perky figure. He is one of the highest-regarded surgeons for preforming breast lifts Tucson has to offer.

Perkier, firmer breasts can definitely boost your confidence and morale, and help you to feel younger, but they are not the solution to every issue you may have with the way you look. Dr. Larson utilizes several techniques for breast lift surgery in Tucson. He will help you select the right one for you in an initial consultation. In the meantime, here are the three options for a breast lift and what you need to know about each one.
The primary differences among the three types are the position and size of the incision, and the location and visibility of any scar.
Sometimes called the “anchor” breast lift because of the shape of the incision, the standard breast lift is the traditional approach to this procedure. It involves an incision around the areola, down the front of the breast and along the breast crease. It tends to be appropriate for most of our Tucson patients and allows Dr. Larson to achieve maximum reshaping and lifting benefits, because it allows for maximal access to all areas of the breast and tissue. This is why it is the procedure most often used when breast augmentation—the addition of implants—is to be combined with a breast lift.
The doughnut breast lift involves a small incision around your areola. The resulting scar blends in and should be virtually imperceptible. Through that opening, Dr. Larson can reshape a small amount of tissue, as well as resize a stretched areola. It is designed for women with mild breast drooping who may need more to elevate the nipple than reconfigure a great deal of breast tissue. In some cases, breast implants can be used to achieve virtually the same effect as a doughnut breast lift. This will be determined during your consultation with Dr. Larson. The procedure is also used to reduce the size of the areola.
The lollipop lift requires an incision around the areola and down the front of the breast. It’s a great “in between” lift that’s less intensive than the standard, but allows for more reshaping than the doughnut. It tends to be best for Tucson women who need a moderate lift. It is called a “lollipop” breast lift, because of the circular incision around the areola and the incision that “stems” down from it, so it resembles a lollipop.
For women who want to elevate and enhance their natural breasts, Dr. Larson can combine your lift with placing implants to create greater breast volume. Doing so will not increase your recovery time by much and the same incisions can be used for both procedures.
When done together, these two techniques yield a dramatic transformation that can take years off your appearance.
