A Thique Tuck is specially designed for plus-sized patients who are happy with their weight and size but want to make some changes to their abdominal contours. These patients are often told that they need to lose weight before they can undergo an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). While it is true that patients should be near their ideal weight before undergoing a body contouring procedure, patients who are already happy with their weight do not need to lose anything. The Thique Tuck can help these patients get to where they want to be.

These procedures are not recommended for women who intend to get pregnant in the future, as pregnancies and childbirth can have a significant impact on the state of the abdomen, potentially undoing the results of the procedure.
Thique Tuck procedures are typically carried out with the patient under general anesthesia and can take one to five hours to complete. The incision is made within the bikini line to ensure that any scars will be hidden by clothing or bathing suits.
The surgery involves detaching the skin from the underlying tissue and suturing the abdominal tissue. Excess skin is then removed from the area to create better abdominal contours. If there are issues with the abdominal muscles, Dr. Larson will reposition them.
While a Thique Tuck is an outpatient procedure, patients will need someone to drive them home and help them out for the first few days following the treatment. Patients are given a compression garment to wear for up to six weeks.
Patients are usually able to get back to work in just 10 to 14 days after the procedure, as long as the nature of the work isn’t very physically demanding. Physical activity should be limited for the first six weeks and all heavy lifting should be avoided. After the six-week mark, patients usually find that they’re fully recovered.
